Tonmind PA System Pro Adds Smart Recording Function with Multiple Trigger Modes
Sep 09, 2026The new function provides three recording modes: scheduled Record, Keyword detection and Sound Effect detection. Users can record audio at specified times or automatically trigger recording and zone actions when predefined keywords or specific sounds are detected.

Tonmind PA System Pro is an all-in-one IP audio management software with a built-in SIP server. Based on a Server & Client architecture, it supports multi-user management and centralized control of IP Speakers, IP Intercoms, IP Paging Microphones and other SIP devices.
PA System Pro provides a wide range of functions, including:
With ONVIF support, PA System Pro can also integrate compatible audio and video devices into the same platform, making it suitable for not only traditional public address applications but also security and audio monitoring projects.
The new Recording Function further extends the capabilities of PA System Pro by allowing audio from connected ONVIF devices to be recorded and managed directly through the software.
There are three recording modes available:
The Record mode allows users to define specific recording periods according to their requirements.
Users can enable recording, select the required days from Monday to Sunday, and configure the desired recording time periods. Once the schedule is saved, PA System Pro automatically starts recording during the configured periods.
This is particularly useful when continuous 24/7 recording is unnecessary.
For example, a school can record classroom audio only during lesson hours, while a training center can record during scheduled classes or examinations.
The Keyword mode provides a more intelligent way to trigger recording.
Users can configure specific keywords such as:
“Hello” / “Bye” / “Begin” / “Emergency”
When the microphone of a connected IP device detects the configured keyword, PA System Pro can automatically execute the corresponding action.
For example:
Keyword detected → Start Recording
It can also be linked with PA System Pro zones to perform actions such as:
Keyword detected → Start session play
or
Keyword detected → Stop session Play
This allows voice commands to become part of the IP PA automation system without requiring an operator to manually control every action.
In addition to keywords, PA System Pro can recognize different types of sounds and use them as triggers.
Sound effects can include different audio events such as:
For example, when Speech is selected as the trigger, PA System Pro can automatically start recording when the software recognizes human speech.
The detected sound can also trigger other actions:
Sound detected → Start Recording
Sound detected → Start session play
Sound detected → Stop session play
This transforms PA System Pro from a traditional broadcasting platform into a more intelligent audio monitoring and event-response system.
Setting up recording in PA System Pro is straightforward.
Make sure PA System Pro and the IP devices are connected to the network.
Click “Create Record” in PA System Pro. The system will search for compatible devices connected to the network, such as IP Speakers, IP Intercoms, IP Microphones and other IP audio devices.
Select the required device under ONVIF, enter the device's username and password, and add it to PA System Pro.
After the device has been successfully added, its audio can be used for recording.
Choose one of the three modes according to the application:
Record: Configure the days and time periods for scheduled recording.
Keyword: Enter the keywords that will trigger recording or zone actions.
Sound Effect: Select the type of sound, such as Speech, and configure the action to be triggered when the sound is detected.
Once the settings are completed, PA System Pro can automatically perform the configured recording or PA actions.
The combination of ONVIF audio, intelligent detection, recording and PA zone control makes the new function suitable for a wide range of applications.
In classrooms, Tonmind IP Speakers or other IP audio devices with microphones can collect audio during specified lesson periods.
Schools can use scheduled recording to record selected classes or activities. Keyword detection can also be configured for specific voice commands to start recording or activate a PA zone.
This can be useful for classroom recording, language learning, lectures, school activities and campus communication.
Training institutions can automatically record lessons according to their course schedules.
Instead of manually starting recording before every lesson, administrators can configure recording periods from Monday to Sunday. PA System Pro will automatically start and stop recording according to the predefined schedule.
This is suitable for training courses, lectures, seminars, language classes and other educational activities.
The Sound Effect mode brings additional possibilities to outdoor security projects.
For example, IP audio devices with microphones can be installed together with CCTV cameras in parking lots, construction sites, campuses, warehouses or other outdoor areas.
When the system detects a selected sound event, it can automatically start recording. It can also trigger a PA zone to play a warning message.
A typical workflow could be:
Abnormal Sound Detected → Start Recording → Activate PA Zone → Play Warning Message
This provides useful audio information alongside traditional video surveillance and can help operators review events more efficiently.
The function can also be used in shopping centers, office buildings, transportation facilities, warehouses and other public areas.
Depending on project requirements, recording can be activated only during specific periods or triggered by keywords or sound events. This reduces unnecessary recording while providing audio records when predefined events occur.
With the new Recording Function, Tonmind PA System Pro goes beyond traditional paging and broadcasting.
By combining scheduled recording, keyword recognition, sound effect detection, ONVIF integration and zone control, the software enables IP audio devices to not only broadcast sound, but also listen for predefined audio events and automatically respond according to configured rules.
Whether used for education, training, security monitoring, commercial facilities or public spaces, the new recording function provides users with a more flexible and intelligent way to manage IP audio.
Together with Tonmind IP Speakers, IP Intercoms, IP Microphones and other SIP & ONVIF audio devices, PA System Pro provides a unified platform for broadcasting, communication, monitoring, recording and intelligent audio event response.
